‘One step enough for me.’

“One step enough for me” is a line from a hymn that begins: Lead, kindly Light …” When pursuing a new path, the whole journey isn’t always clear. You may feel led in a direction without knowing why. But with each step, the way can become clearer. The hymn sings this prayer:

“Keep Thou my feet: I do not ask to see
The distant scene: one step enough for me” (John Henry Newman, the Christian Science Hymnal, No. 169).
